The Paper Audit is a sixty-minute video call. We walk through how work moves through your business, from the order coming in to the invoice going out. We ask what gets typed twice, what gets checked by hand, and what nobody wants to be stuck with on a Friday afternoon.
Some tasks on that list will be marked leave it alone. That is a real answer and you get it in writing. Builds are fixed price and most take two to four weeks. We do not bill by the hour.

After the build
We host it, and we keep it running.
Every build includes hosting, monitoring, backups, and support for a fixed monthly fee, quoted with the build before you commit to anything. Most land between $250 and $500 a month depending on the size of the application.
That is not an add-on. Software that nobody maintains stops being useful in about a year, so we do not hand over a URL and walk away. When something breaks you call us. Not a queue, not a ticket number.

Orders that get retyped
Orders arrive by email or PDF. Someone opens each one and types it into the system by hand. The build reads the order, matches the customer and the line items, and creates it. The person who used to retype goes back to work that needs a person.
Quotes off a spreadsheet
Every quote starts from a copy of the last one. Prices drift, two people quote the same job differently, and nobody is sure which version is current. The build holds the price rules in one place, so the quote comes out the same no matter who builds it.

Eden Mill Software builds custom applications for small to medium sized businesses. We are based in Fallston, Maryland, in northern Harford County.
The work comes out of fifteen years of running operations at small companies in manufacturing, tech, and professional services. Chris spent those years on the other side of this problem: the one deciding whether a process was worth fixing, and the one who had to keep it running afterward. Most software gets built by people who have never had to live with it.
Eden Mill changes that. We know the front of the house, the work that happens behind it, and the software that has to hold both together.

Who owns the software?
You have a perpetual license to use it for your business, for as long as you want it. We keep the underlying code so we can reuse the parts that are not specific to you.
